Press Release - WV Faith & Family Caucus
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 9, 2025
The West Virginia Faith & Family Caucus
CHARLESTON, West Virginia — The West Virginia Faith & Family Caucus (WVFFC)
proudly announces its official launch as a coalition of legislators committed to
strengthening the moral and economic foundations of our state. The Caucus brings
together lawmakers who believe West Virginia’s best days are still ahead — and who are
determined to make this state a place where families and businesses want to stay, grow,
and invest.
“With our rugged terrain and decreasing population, West Virginians have never been
strangers to hard work or hope. That same spirit can build a state where faith, family, and
opportunity thrive together,” said Chair, Delegate Jim Butler. “Our children should have a
reason to stay in West Virginia, not a reason to leave it.”
The West Virginia Faith & Family Caucus is comprised of 12 Senators and 19 Delegates
representing communities across every region of our state. These lawmakers share a
conviction that moral strength and economic vitality go hand in hand — and that lasting
prosperity begins with faith, family, and integrity in leadership. The Caucus expects to
continue to grow as additional legislators join.
The Caucus recognizes that these are serious times. Families feel the strain every time they
pay a power bill or send a child to a school that can’t keep order. The answer is not outrage,
but resolve — confronting bad policy and “the way we’ve always done things” with better
solutions. The members of the Faith & Family Caucus are committed to being a light in the
legislative process — working to secure tangible wins for everyday West Virginia families,
the kind they can see in their bank accounts and feel in their communities.
The Caucus Will Advance Policies That:
Strengthen Families and Communities — defending life, faith, and parental rights;
ensuring that West Virginia remains a place where values are lived and taught.
Empower Work and Opportunity — removing barriers that hold our people back;
rewarding small business and hard work so that success can be found right here in West
Virginia.
Support Reliable, Affordable Energy — protecting West Virginia’s role as an energy leader
while promoting policies that lower power costs, safeguard jobs, and ensure energy
independence.
Advance Industry and Economic Growth — making our state more attractive to
employers, tearing down barriers to business entry, and diversifying into manufacturing,
technology, and other industries creating stable, long-term jobs for West Virginians.
Promote Responsible Government — protecting taxpayer dollars, ensuring transparency,
and restoring trust in public office.
Elevate Education — giving parents a real voice, recognizing great teachers, and instilling
discipline, virtue, and excellence in our classrooms while empowering families and
supporting families’ educational choices so that every child has the opportunity to
succeed.
“When families are strong and communities have faith in their institutions, everything else
follows,” said Vice Chair, Senator Patricia Rucker. “We want West Virginia to be known
not just for our mountains, but as a state where faith and responsibility still mean
something, and where opportunity is real for everyone and choices abound.”
Guiding Principles
The guiding principles of the Caucus are clear: Faith and Family are the heart of a healthy
West Virginia. The group believes that lasting prosperity comes when we honor God,
protect families, value work, and govern with integrity. The Caucus exists not to divide, but
to unite — to restore trust, to inspire leadership, and to renew hope in what West Virginia
can become.
“Our purpose isn’t to fight the past — it’s to build the future,” said Secretary, Delegate
David Green. “We choose not the path of anger, but the path of light — offering better
ideas, constructive solutions, and a hopeful vision that genuinely improves life for West
Virginia families.”
The West Virginia Faith & Family Caucus will communicate regularly through its website
and social-media channels, sharing legislative updates, success stories, and community
initiatives that reflect this mission of moral conviction and hopeful progress.
